M/V Megaborg

Location: Gulf of Mexico, 57 miles SE of Galveston, Texas

Info: An explosion occurred in the pump room of the Mega Borg while the Fraqmura was lightering it. As a result of the explosion, a fire started on the Mega Borg and an estimated 100,000 barrels of Angolan Palanca crude was burned or released into the water during the next seven days. More oil was discharged when the Fraqmura broke away from the Mega Borg.
